Salzburg… through the eyes of a tourist

Scroll down to content

So this year, we decided to spend a week of holidays at home! Living in Salzburg for 12 years now, I thought I had seen a lot of what the place and the region has to offer… until flicking through a tourist guide one evening over a glass of wine. There are so many things you actually never visit when you live in a place. And it’s something we should change. So these are some of our favourite things to do in Salzburg:

…biking along the Salzach river, the Salzburg Open-Air Museum, Hellbrunn and its water gardens, a Sound of Music bus tour (yes, we actually did that 😀 and we were the first German speaking people our tour guide ever had), and enjoying the sunset over the old town at Kapuzinerberg.

…and more will be coming (stay tuned for some local tips and our trip to Bad Gastein).

While you are here: have a look at some of my other photos from around Austria.
