Follow some of the European travel photography accounts on Instagram and you will soon stumble upon a place that is photographed very often: a small church, appearently near Berchtesgaden with a small and winding road leading up to it. Digging through the hashtags, I found some posts marked #mariagern. A quick check-up on Google Maps confirmed that this cute little church is just half an hour drive from Salzburg. What better destination for a Sunday?

I decided to mostly stick to black-and-white photos for this because the snow and grey sky rendered everything kind of grey anyway. Besides the blue hour, that was actually properly blue.

If you liked this, maybe you will also like some of my other photography from around Germany?
